We got a special delivery of some fresh wild caught fish, a delicious surprise! As we usually fire up the BBQ for a fish like this, it was getting late so the oven was next best thing. Was delicious, with tons of Asian inspiration that is sure to brighten any delicious white fish.
- 2 medium white fish fillets (we had one large and one small)
- 1 green onion, sliced thin on an angle
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1″ piece of ginger, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp Big Cove Foods Ancient Chinese Secret
- 1 tbsp white miso paste
- 1 tsp Shaoxing wine
Heat your oven to 400
Lay a large piece of tin foil on a baking sheet and lay your fishy down.
Smear your miso paste all over and then scatter the rest of the above ingredients evenly over the fish.
Using another piece of tin foil the same size, lay it over your fish and crimp the edges to create a good seal.
Bake your fish in foil in the oven for approximately 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish. Check done-ness by piercing the middle of the fish with a fork, if it falls apart nice and flaky, it’s done. Or check for 158 degrees F on a thermometer.
