Bone Broth.

My mom used to make bone broth in the same large pot and cook for hours – or days!

She would just keep on adding to it veggies like celery and carrots, to herb scraps and beyond. Until she heard the whisper of the bones tell her it’s time to strain.

Now first things first. This broth tasted amazing!

But I just don’t have time for this.

As a mom and entrepreneur, I have 20 tabs open at all times and just can’t plan my broth ahead. When I want broth for soups or sipping, I kinda want it now.

*Insert the pressure cooker method*

When I tell people I use the Instant Pot to make my broth – I’m surprised by how many people don’t know about it. It’s hard to shake the traditional stove top method with it’s charm and rustic feel, and change your broth making ways.

But honestly, I love it. Here’s why:

1. It’s quick! 

I can pull our leftover bones from the freezer and throw it in the Instant Pot and still have time to make soup from it that same day.

2. I actually make it now.

Before, I would just ponder about making broth so I can sip on it between tasks and enjoy the health benefits I know are present. But then realizing how long it needs to stew, and work it into my schedule on days where I don’t leave the house was too much.

3. It still tastes delicious!

So much flavour for sipping along, or adding to soups and storing in the freezer for cooking.

FAQ: But does it “jello” – why yes, it does still jello! :)   

I don’t roast my bones, I don’t use a ton of different ingredients for flavours.

I know these things add more flavour. But I just keep it simple - because simple is achievable.
