Game Changer Carrot SlawTags:
It’s winter – so the root vegetables are stealing the show! Our ‘Game Changer’ spice blend adds a unique flavour to this hearty root vegetable. Easy and quick, perfect side dish or salad topper!
- 4 carrots, peeled and shredded
- 2 green onion, sliced thinly on an angle
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Big Cove Foods ‘Game Changer’ spice blend
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Add your sliced green onions to a bowl with cold water, just enough to cover, and add an ice cube or two. Allow to sit for at least 20 minutes, then drain well. This allows the green onions to mellow out a bit and taste less abrasive.
In a small bowl mix together the lemon juice, dijon mustard, Game Changer spice blend, sugar and olive oil.
In a medium bowl, toss together the carrots and green onion. Then add in your game changing dressing and mix thoroughly. Allow the flavours to mingle in the fridge for at least an hour.
