Soup
italian
2 local sausages (we used Little Dorset Farms)
2 tbsp butter
1 onion, diced
2 celery, diced
2 carrot, diced
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp Mary Had a Lot of Lamb spice blend
4 cups chicken stock
2 cans white beans
1 large chuck of parmesan cheese, cut in 4 (rinds work great!)
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
In a dutch oven or large heavy bottom pot, cook the sausage on medium heat. You want to get a nice brown and mostly cooked through. Remove from heat and set the sausage aside.
Add the butter to the pan that’s still on medium heat, do not rinse out pan – you want all those yummy bits on the bottom. Once melted, add the onions, carrots and celery. Cook until softened.
Add the garlic and Mary Had a Lot of Lamb spice blend and cook for another minute, or until smells very delicious!
Add the white beans to the pot, and then the stock, parmesan and bay leaf. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Partially cover and simmer for about 20 mins.
Remove the bay leaf and using an immersion blender, blend a few pulses. You want to blend just enough to give it a creamy texture, but not too much that you make it into a puree. If you do not have an immersion blender, transfer half of the soup to a blender and pulse a few times, add back to the pot.
Dice up your sausage into pieces of your choosing and add back to your soup pot. Bring to a quick boil, reduce and taste.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Enjoy!
What I love about these spices is that they may come individually packaged, but I still turn on a bit more wild, by mixing one package with another. Have you tried Taco Enhancer with Red Rub? Amazing
Egyptian Summer spice blend

I am a chef and I ordered these last summer for BBQ season they were awesome! Will certainly re order soon! I would recommend these spices to anyone that is looking to take their BBQ reciepes to the next level.
This was amazing, I’ve already made the chickpea salad 4 times!!! I also made it for a few other people to try and they all loved it as well and asked where it was from!
My favourite spice blend. Delicious on any/all meat!
I traveled to Ontario for Christmas (2023) and brought Pouches of Big Cove Pick your Own Five. It was a big hit several years ago when I did it. Great feedback from everyone back then and everyone was very happy to recieve them again. The blends and recipes are great.
Had to order them all so we could try the ones we haven’t yet!
I purchased the Taco Enhancer product and first tried it when making some ground beef for my tacos. I tried the meat just using the taco spice and it did well just being on its own. It provided a reasonable amount of heat to the meat that wasn't overpowering but was noticeable. As I ate more of the meat with the spice I felt the heat of the product increase which was nice. If you don't like hot stuff, this is a good product to get you started to feel a little heat that is reasonable. If you like hot stuff, this probably won't do it for you but it does provide a small kick. It paired well with the ground beef as the meat really soaked up the spice.
We used this spice on a salad as it said it contained mango. While we typically start away from anything Porcine, this one is a must but. The museum and garlic mixed with the mango gives it a unique flavour that we didn't even realize we were missing from our cupboard until we tried it!
One of my favs
